Heineken brews its beer using selected ingredients of extraordinary quality: pilsen barley malt, hops, water and an exclusive bottom-fermenting yeast. Bottom-fermenting Heineken yeast is distributed from the Netherlands to the more than 70 countries where it is brewed.
It is a bright yellow lager type and style beer. It has an intense white foam, creamy and persistent in the glass, which leaves clear rings as it is consumed.
Its fruity banana aroma (from its slow fermentation at low temperature) lingers until final consumption, mixing with the slightly sweet flavor of pilsen malt and its mild bitterness.
Heineken is a light-bodied dry beer with a good mid palate, which provides a very fresh bitter finish and is not at all astringent at the end of its consumption.
Extraordinary as an aperitif, and especially suitable to accompany dishes such as salads, asparagus, vegetable-based dishes and white meats, especially when accompanied with compotes or applesauce. Ideal for Asian cuisine, blue or white fish grilled, baked, pickled, salted or fried.
Heineken beer was born in 1873 in a small family brewery in Amsterdam (Holland). Its founder, Alfred Heineken, always believed that beer could travel, which has been key to its international expansion. Heineken is currently the leading beer in Europe and the most international brand in the world, with a presence in 180 countries.
